FIRST EVER REALLY REALLY FREE FLEA MARKET
JUNE 17, 2009 9-3PM DAV HALL 47326 DEQUINDRE UTICA, MI 48317 What is a Really Really Free Market? The Really Really Free Market (RRFM) movement is a non-hierarchical collective of individuals who form a temporary market based on an alternative gift economy. The RRFM movement aims to counteract capitalism in a non-reactionary way. It holds as a major goal to build a community based on sharing resources, caring for one another and improving the collective lives of all. The Really Really Free Market, as opposed to the Not-So-Free Free Market, breaks down the myth of scarcity and encourages us to take advantage of the abundance all around us. This is about giving and receiving through a gift economy which encourages sharing without the expectation of payment. It's like a potluck: everyone brings something and leaves with more. We all have skills, ideas, objects, talents, smiles, friendships, excitement, discussions, and many other things to share. If we bring them together at the REALLY REALLY FREE MARKET, we can provide more balanced and full lives for us all! If you would like to make donations and receive a receipt, drop off is scheduled for June 16, 2009, from 2-7PM. We will also be accepting donations to help our local veterans, soldiers, community baby showers, and community clothing exchanges. Donations are tax deductible. For more information and complete lists of all donations needed: Please contact frugalnanax3@yahoo.com Or Send a SASE to: DAV Community Service Chairman C/O Charly Mathews PO BOX 180946 Utica, MI 48318 So get ready and bring all of the items that you would like to freecycle and take what you want.
